Priya Anand has finally arrived. For long, she had been projected as a talented yet luckless actress. It appears that Lady Luck is finally smiling on dusky Priya whose latest film Ethir Neechal opposite Sivakarthikeyan has been declared as a ‘super-hit’ venture by trade circles.
Dhanush, who had produced the film, had organized a press-meet this week to celebrate the film’s success. Sivakarthikeyan, Priya Anand, Nanditha, Durai Senthilkumar, the debutant director of the film and music director Anirudh attended the press-meet and enthusiastically obliged queries posed by the newsmen.
Priya denied she was ‘close’ with Sivakarthikeyan off-screen. Priya and Siva, who had been paired opposite each other for the first time in Ethir Neechal, were rumoured to be getting too close to each other off-screen as well. A reported asked Priya as to what was going on between her and Siva.
Pat came the reply from Priya. “Nothing” she said, smiled and continued: “There is nothing brewing between me and Sivakarthikeyan other than the fact that we are good friends and are in the same profession,” she added. She also said with a mischievous smile that “I have been sitting at a fair distance from Sivakarthikeyan only to avoid such questions from you guys!”
To another query, she responded saying that no hero ever recommended her to any producer/director to sign her up in their films. “I have nothing to say about this as I had never been recommended by any hero and didn’t ever felt that such a necessity existed in my career,” she replied.
