Though Karthi and Santhanam are certainly one of the most-loved hero-comedian pairs witnessed in Tamil cinema in recent times, what is being told around is Karthi has reportedly asked Hari to look for some other comedian to star alongside him in the director’s upcoming film Aruva.
Hari, who has given hit films such as Vel, Aaru and Singam with Suriya, is all set to release Singam-2 in a few weeks’ time. Now that the shoot of Singam-2 is over, Hari is all set to work for Suriya’s younger sibling Karthi for the first time and has named the film as Aruva.
Santhanam was Hari’s obvious choice as the comedian to work with Karthi as the duo has worked earlier in films such as Siruthai, Saguni and Alex Pandian. However, Karthi had other ideas and is said to have told Hari not to sign up Santhanam as the comedian in Aruva and look elsewhere.
Before you might wonder as to what was Karthi’s problem in starring with Santhanam, the former’s explanation was simple: he didn’t want to be spotted with Santhanam film after film as it would give a ‘jaded’ feeling to his fans and the audiences. It’s for this sole reason that Hari is now considering casting some other comedian in Aruva.
