Believe it or not. Manivannan’s Golden Jubilee movie Nagaraja Chozhan MA., MLA (Amaithipadai – 2) has got clean U certificate without any cuts. The movie which is a satire with strong dose of criticism on the political culture prevailing in the country was expected to have many objections and cuts from the censor board. But the board members have no objection on the content of the movie and hence they have cleared the movie with U certificate without any cuts.
Starring Sathyaraj, Manivannan in the lead roles, the movie is a complete satire in the lines of Amaithipadai by the same team that hit the halls almost two decades back. The movie which was released in 1994 was a big hit and it became a benchmark for political satire films.
Though Amaithipadai 2 is hard hitting like its prequel, the censor board members enjoyed the movie during the special screening, informs the PRO of the film. However, the members have instructed the makers to muted a dialogue in a scene.
The producers have planned to release the movie on May 1st week.
